Make better choices: Eat this not that
Instead of… Try…
Soda is loaded with sugar or artificial sweeteners. Sparkling water with fresh lemons or frozen fruit.
Regular bread has processed flour and unrecognizable ingredients. Sprouted grain bread is much less processed with few ingredients.
Microwave popcorn is loaded with chemicals – even lining the bag. Stove top popcorn is a healthy snack.
Deep fried french fries are a trans fat and carb bomb. Baked homemade sweet potato fries are a low glycemic healthier choice.
Mayonnaise and sour cream is nutrient void. Organic greek yogurt is high in protein and calcium.
Regular pasta is high in gluten, a gut irritant. Spaghetti squash is gluten free.
White/wheat flour is high carb, refined, and void of fiber. Almond flour and coconut flour is low carb and high fiber.
White sugar in baking. Applesauce – don’t knock it til you try it, it works!
Regular breakfast cereal is full of sugar and GMO’s. Organic steel cut oats with fresh fruit is wholesome.
Candy bars are loaded with GMO’s and chemicals. Dried fruit is a sweet treat.
Flour tortillas are refined, high glycemic, and void of nutrition. Organic corn tortillas have more fiber and are more filling.
Croutons on salads are fried. Chopped nuts pack a great crunch, and are low carb.
Cake is loaded with sugar and butter – a fat storage combo for your waistline. Homemade paleo banana bread is guilt free.
Olive oil is not high-heat tolerant and becomes unhealthy. Avocado oil is better for sauteing.
Ground beef is mass produced and the animals aren’t fed their natural diet. (corn) Bison is a free range animal that eats its natural diet.
Pancake Syrup is basically high fructose corn syrup. Pureed fruit is awesome on pancakes and waffles!
Mashed potatoes are high starch AND high fat – a fat storage combo. Cauliflower mash is a great substitute!
Bottled salad dressing is a chemical shit storm and made with soybean oil. Homemade dressing is really easy to make.
And for vegan substitutions… Eat this not that
