Mountain town mud season

Ski season is over… bring on Mountain town mud season. Biking, hiking, and trail running are here!  However, spring can really be a challenging time of year in Utah to find trails and areas not still covered in snow and mud.  This weekend I did a trail run at Round Valley and trails were dry.  Round Valley is near the Park City Hospital and ice arena.  The trails are not steep so they’re perfect for trail running and beginner level mountain biking!

I also did a hike in the Uinta mountains.  I took hwy 35 past the town of Francis to Cedar Hollow Trail.  If you’re looking for a hiking area not highly used by people, but still easy to moderate in difficulty, I’d recommend the area.  We even hiked up with our 1 year old in a backpack carrier which she loved. : )  It was very quiet, very enjoyable.  We were able to hike a decent distance before hitting too much snow to continue in regular hiking boots.

Spring conditions can is Mountain town mud season you have overcome but not an impossible feat!
